Taiyo Onorato & Nico Krebs

Taiyo Onorato (born 1979, Japan) and Nico Krebs (born 1979, Switzerland) are a Zurich-based artist duo who have collaborated since 2003, creating conceptual photography and mixed-media works that blur the boundaries between reality and fiction. Their practice often involves constructing elaborate physical setups and photographic illusions that question the nature of the photographic medium and our perception of the world. They are best known for projects such as 'The Great Unreal,' a cross-country journey through America documented through manipulated and constructed images, and have gained international recognition for their playful yet rigorous investigations into light, space, and representation.
