Untitled (Three Dancing Figures)

1989

This monumental outdoor sculpture by Keith Haring presents three oversimplified human figures rendered in bold primary colors including yellow, blue, and red in energetic, interlocking dancing poses. The flat silhouetted forms are immediately recognizable as Haring's signature visual vocabulary, translating his graphic street art language into three dimensional painted aluminum. The piece sits prominently within an outdoor sculpture park in downtown Des Moines, Iowa, surrounded by a manicured green lawn with the city skyline visible in the background. The work powerfully embodies Haring's recurring themes of communal movement, joy, and human connection.
