This work comprises two prints created using the combined etching and aquatint techniques, allowing Drum to achieve both fine linear detail and tonal variation within a single composition. The aquatint process, which involves acid biting a resin-dusted copper plate, enabled the artist to create areas of subtle shading and atmospheric effects alongside the precision of etched lines. Together, these two impressions demonstrate Drum's technical mastery of intaglio printmaking and his ability to work across multiple plates.
