This work, attributed to the prominent Qing dynasty collector and connoisseur Duan Fang, consists of two leaves executed in ink on paper that exemplify the literati painting tradition. The attribution to Duan Fang reflects his dual role as both an accomplished artist and one of China's most influential collectors, whose famous Xiaowanliutang collection represented refined taste in classical Chinese art.
