Modesty is a commanding installation work by San Francisco-based artist Koak, completed in 2023 and currently presented through Perrotin. The piece brings together a solid ash cabinet structure with enamel paint and archival varnish alongside a collection of twenty-one drawings on rag paper, each rendered in a richly varied vocabulary of graphite, pastel, ink, casein, and chalk sourced directly from the cliffs of Seven Sisters in East Sussex.
