A Dayazhai Grisaille -decorated Yellow-ground Bowl
GUANGXU PERIOD (1875-1908)
This Guangxu period porcelain bowl features a distinctive yellow ground decorated with grisaille (monochromatic gray) painting, a technique characteristic of the Dayazhai workshop's refined aesthetic during the late Qing dynasty. The delicate monochromatic designs contrast elegantly against the imperial yellow glaze, which was traditionally reserved for court use. This type of decorated ware exemplifies the high technical achievement and artistic sophistication of late 19th century Chinese porcelain production under imperial patronage.
