An oviform cloisonné enamel vase from the Meiji period decorated with various butterflies in flight on a dark blue ground, rendered in colored enamels and silver wire. The shoulder features a band of stylised chrysanthemums and karakusa with lappet borders at the foot and copper-gilt mounts.
