Vassilakis Takis (1925, 2019), known simply as Takis, was a pioneering Greek sculptor and kinetic artist renowned for his innovative exploration of electromagnetic forces, magnetism, and energy in sculpture. His iconic 'Telemagnetic' and 'Signal' works transformed scientific phenomena into aesthetic experiences, bridging art and technology in ways that proved deeply influential to the Kinetic Art movement. A self-taught artist who spent much of his career in Paris and London, Takis became a central figure in the international avant-garde, celebrated for works that pulsate, levitate, and respond to invisible forces.
