Tod Papageorge

Tod Papageorge is an American photographer known for his street photography and documentary work that captures the complexities of everyday American life, public spaces, and social gatherings. His work is characterized by a sharp observational eye and a deep engagement with the tradition of humanist photography, drawing comparisons to masters like Garry Winogrand and Walker Evans. A longtime educator at Yale University's School of Art, where he served as Director of Graduate Studies in Photography, Papageorge has been a significant influence on generations of photographers.
