Timmy Payungka Tjapangati was a celebrated Aboriginal Australian painter from the Pintupi language group, known for his dynamic and visually striking dot paintings that depicted Dreaming stories from the Western Desert. Born around 1943 at Haasts Bluff in the Northern Territory, he became one of the most sought-after artists associated with the Papunya Tula movement, producing works that commanded significant prices at major auction houses. His compositions are renowned for their bold use of colour, intricate patterning, and deeply spiritual connection to Country.
