Terry Adkins

Terry Adkins was a sculptor and performance artist who created installations from found materials and musical instruments honoring overlooked African American historical figures. His Post-Minimalist assemblages combined material rigor with social content. He represented the US at the Venice Biennale and is in collections including the Whitney and Tate.
