Stanley Robert Boxer

Stanley Robert Boxer (1926, 2000) was an American abstract painter and sculptor known for his richly textured, densely layered canvases that push the boundaries of Abstract Expressionism. His work is characterized by impasto surfaces built up with unconventional tools and materials, creating tactile, almost relief-like paintings that blur the line between painting and sculpture. Boxer was also a significant printmaker and sculptor, exhibiting widely and earning recognition as one of the more distinctive voices in post-war American abstraction.
