Rosalie Gascoigne created assemblages from weathered found materials including road signs, linoleum, and soft-drink crates arranged into subtle abstractions reflecting the Australian landscape. Working from her rural property near Canberra, she developed a distinctive practice that synthesized European modernism with Australian vernacular materials. Her work is held in all major Australian state galleries and the Tate.
