Ronnie Tjampitjinpa is a senior Pintupi painter born around 1943 in the Western Desert of Australia, widely regarded as one of the most important Aboriginal artists of his generation. He is renowned for his large-scale, boldly geometric works depicting Tingari ceremonial songlines, characterized by concentric circles, undulating lines, and vibrant colours. His paintings are held in major public collections including the National Gallery of Australia and have achieved significant prices at international auction houses.
