Rameshwar Broota

Rameshwar Broota is a celebrated Indian contemporary painter born in 1941 in New Delhi, known for his powerful figurative works that evolved from social commentary to deeply philosophical explorations of the human form. His iconic series depicting apes and stripped, muscular male figures interrogate themes of power, vulnerability, mortality, and the human condition. Broota has been a significant force in Indian modernism and was a longtime faculty member at Triveni Kala Sangam, New Delhi, influencing generations of artists.
