Rabin Mondal

Rabin Mondal (1929, 2019) was a celebrated Indian painter known for his raw, expressionistic depictions of marginalized human figures, suffering, and the human condition. Largely self-taught and associated with the Calcutta art scene, he developed a distinctive style characterized by distorted forms, dark tones, and visceral emotional intensity. His works have been exhibited internationally and have achieved significant recognition at major Indian auction houses including Saffronart and Christie's.
