Pieter de Ring was a Dutch Golden Age painter born around 1615 in Leiden, known primarily for his elaborate and richly detailed still life paintings. He was a pupil of Jan Davidsz. de Heem and became a master of the pronkstilleven, or ostentatious still life, depicting luxurious objects such as glassware, silverware, exotic fruits, and fine textiles. His works are held in major museum collections across Europe and frequently appear at leading international auction houses including Christie's and Sotheby's.
