Norval Morrisseau

Norval Morrisseau (1921-2007) was an Ojibwe artist from Ontario, Canada, who pioneered a distinctive style combining Indigenous spiritual themes with modernist painting techniques. He is credited with founding the Woodland School of art and became a major figure in contemporary Indigenous Canadian art.
