Nikhil Biswas (1930, 1966) was a prominent Indian painter known for his lyrical and emotionally charged figurative works, often depicting rural life, Bengali landscapes, and human subjects with a distinctive expressionist sensibility. He was associated with the post-independence Indian modern art movement and studied at the Government College of Art & Craft in Kolkata. His career, though tragically short, produced works that have been regularly featured in major Indian auction houses such as Saffronart and Christie's.
