Naata Nungurrayi

Naata Nungurrayi is a prominent Aboriginal Australian painter from the Western Desert tradition, born around 1932 in the Gibson Desert region of Western Australia. She is celebrated for her large-scale, vibrantly coloured paintings depicting Marrapinti, a sacred site associated with women's ceremonies and Dreaming stories. Her work is held in major public and private collections worldwide and has achieved significant prices at auction through houses including Sotheby's and Bonhams.
