Newell Convers Wyeth (1882, 1945) was one of America's most celebrated illustrators, renowned for his dramatic and vivid paintings that brought classic literary works to life, including Treasure Island, Robin Hood, and The Last of the Mohicans. Trained under Howard Pyle at the Brandywine School, Wyeth developed a bold, cinematic style characterized by dynamic compositions and rich color. He was also a fine artist and muralist, and is the patriarch of the legendary Wyeth artistic dynasty.
