Michael Leonard was a hyperrealist painter known for his large-scale paintings of male nudes and portraits rendered with photographic precision. His works combined classical composition with contemporary homoerotic content and were executed in watercolor and oil. His paintings were exhibited internationally and are held in collections including the National Portrait Gallery, London.
