Meyer Vaisman is a Venezuelan-born American conceptual artist known for his self-referential paintings that incorporate the woven texture of canvas as a central element of the work itself. He rose to prominence in the 1980s New York art scene as a co-owner of International with Monument Gallery alongside Jeff Koons and Haim Steinbach. His work engages with issues of simulacra, commodity culture, and the nature of art-making, later expanding into sculptural works featuring turkeys and other figurative forms.
