Macaparana

Macaparana (José Pereira da Silva) is a Brazilian artist born in 1952 in Macaparana, Pernambuco, from which he takes his name. He is known for his rigorous geometric abstract paintings and works on paper that explore rhythm, color, and repetition through systematic arrangements of lines and forms. His work is deeply connected to the Brazilian Concrete and Neo-Concrete art traditions, and he has exhibited widely in Brazil and internationally.
