M'barek Bouhchichi

M'barek Bouhchichi is a Moroccan contemporary artist born in 1978 in Bouizakarne, southern Morocco, known for his multidisciplinary practice that draws on the cultural heritage and oral traditions of the Draa Valley region. His work spans photography, video, installation, and performance, often incorporating henna, indigo, and other traditional materials to explore themes of memory, identity, and transmission of knowledge. Bouhchichi has exhibited internationally and is considered one of the leading voices in contemporary North African art.
