Joris Laarman is a Dutch designer and artist born in 1979, known for his pioneering work at the intersection of technology, science, and design. He gained international recognition with his 'Bone Chair' (2006), which applied bone-growth algorithms to furniture design, and has since explored digital fabrication, robotics, and open-source manufacturing through his studio Joris Laarman Lab. His works are held in major museum collections worldwide, including MoMA and the Vitra Design Museum, and regularly appear at leading auction houses.
