James Jarvaise

American(1925–2000)

James Jarvaise was an American abstract expressionist painter active in the mid-twentieth century, known for his gestural, heavily textured works that reflect the influence of the New York School. His paintings often feature bold, expressive brushwork and a rich interplay of color and form. Jarvaise exhibited during the height of the Abstract Expressionist movement and his works have appeared at major auction houses including Sotheby's and Christie's.
