Hiroshi Yoshida was one of the most celebrated Japanese woodblock print artists of the 20th century, renowned for his masterful synthesis of traditional ukiyo-e printmaking techniques with Western influences in perspective and realism. A key figure in the Shin-Hanga ('new print') movement, he traveled extensively throughout Europe, North America, and Asia, translating his experiences into luminous landscape prints depicting Mount Fuji, the Alps, the Taj Mahal, and scenes from the American West.
