Frederick van Valckenborch

Frederick van Valckenborch was a Flemish painter born in 1566 in Mechelen, known for his detailed landscape paintings often featuring biblical or mythological scenes. He was a member of the prominent van Valckenborch artistic family and worked extensively in Frankfurt and other German cities after fleeing religious persecution in the Spanish Netherlands. His work is characterized by panoramic mountain landscapes rendered with meticulous detail and vibrant color, continuing the tradition established by his uncle Lucas van Valckenborch.
