Francesco Albani (1578, 1660) was an Italian Baroque painter of Albanian descent, renowned for his work within the Bolognese school. Deeply influenced by Annibale Carracci's classicism, he worked across Bologna, Rome, Viterbo, Mantua, and Florence. His idyllic landscapes and small mythological pictures earned him the soubriquet 'the Anacreon of painters' for their lyrical, poetic qualities.
