Fernand du Puigaudeau (1864, 1930) was a French Post-Impressionist painter best known for his nocturnal scenes, fairgrounds, and landscapes of the Breton coast, particularly around the village of Batz-sur-Mer where he settled. A close friend of Paul Gauguin, he developed a distinctive style characterized by luminous color, atmospheric light effects, and a poetic sensitivity to everyday life and nature. His work is celebrated for its intimate depictions of Breton folklore, carnival scenes, and shimmering moonlit seascapes.
