Gonçalo Mabunda

Gonçalo Mabunda creates sculptures from decommissioned weapons collected after Mozambique's civil war, transforming AK-47s, pistols, and rocket launchers into thrones and masks. His works, such as his 'Throne' series, address themes of power, violence, and reconciliation while referencing African artistic traditions. He has exhibited at the British Museum, the Venice Biennale, and major galleries internationally.
