Mitra Tabrizian

Mitra Tabrizian is an Iranian-born, London-based photographer and filmmaker whose work critically examines issues of identity, power, surveillance, and postcolonial politics through meticulously staged, cinematic large-scale photographs. Her practice draws on film noir aesthetics and critical theory to construct ambiguous, psychologically charged narratives that interrogate contemporary social and political conditions. She is a professor at the University of Westminster and is regarded as a significant voice in contemporary photography addressing diaspora, globalization, and the politics of representation.
