Jack Bush was a painter who created bold Color Field works using simplified forms and vibrant hues, becoming Canada's leading abstract painter. He was influenced by Clement Greenberg and the New York School, developing a distinctive style of stacked bands and floating shapes. His work is held in the National Gallery of Canada, MoMA, and the Guggenheim.
