Christophe Fratin (1801, 1864) was a French sculptor renowned for his dynamic and lifelike depictions of animals, particularly bears, lions, and eagles. A student of Théodore Géricault, he became one of the leading animalier sculptors of 19th-century France, exhibiting regularly at the Paris Salon. His bronze works are highly sought after at auction for their expressive naturalism and technical mastery.
