Charles Marion Russell (1864, 1926) was an American artist renowned for his vivid depictions of the American Old West, producing over 2,000 paintings and bronze sculptures featuring cowboys, Native Americans, and western landscapes. Known as 'the cowboy artist,' he was also a storyteller and author who became a passionate advocate for Native American rights, helping to establish the Rocky Boy Reservation in Montana in 1916.
