Safeya Binzagr

Safeya Binzagr (1940, 2021) was a pioneering Saudi Arabian artist widely regarded as the first professional female painter in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Her work celebrated the traditional life, folklore, and cultural heritage of the Arabian Peninsula, depicting scenes of daily life, rituals, and festivities with vibrant color and meticulous detail. She founded the Binzagr Museum in Jeddah to preserve and share her extensive body of work and Saudi cultural heritage.
