Baron Dominique Vivant Denon (1747, 1825) was a French artist, diplomat, writer, and arts administrator who served as the first director of the Louvre Museum under Napoleon Bonaparte. Renowned as an engraver, draughtsman, and printmaker, he accompanied Napoleon's Egyptian campaign and produced the influential illustrated work 'Voyage dans la Basse et la Haute Égypte.' His etchings and drawings are highly sought after at auction for their historical significance and refined neoclassical style.
