Arun Bose (1934, 1990) was an Indian-American abstract painter who studied under Mark Rothko at the Brooklyn Museum Art School and later at the Art Students League of New York. His work is characterized by luminous color fields and gestural abstraction, blending Eastern philosophical sensibilities with Western Abstract Expressionism. Bose exhibited widely in the United States and Europe, and his paintings have appeared in major auction house sales including Christie's and Sotheby's.
