Alan Sonfist

Alan Sonfist is a pioneer of environmental art known for large-scale public ecological artworks that restore native landscapes in urban environments. His landmark work "Time Landscape" (1965-1978) recreated a pre-colonial forest in New York City's Greenwich Village, establishing a new paradigm for ecological art. His work is held by major collections including MoMA, the Guggenheim, and the Museum of Modern Art in Vienna.
