Adrien Tournachon (1825, 1903), also known by the pseudonym 'Nadar jeune,' was a French photographer and younger brother of the celebrated photographer Félix Nadar. He collaborated with his brother in the early years of their photographic studio before pursuing his own career, and is particularly noted for his innovative series of expressive portraits documenting the mime artist Charles Deburau in character, which are considered pioneering works in the use of photography to capture sequential movement and theatrical expression. His contributions to 19th-century portrait photography helped establish the medium as a serious artistic and documentary form.
