Abel Pann was a Russian-born Jewish painter and printmaker who immigrated to Jerusalem in the early twentieth century, settling in the Talpiot neighborhood. He was a faculty member at the Bezalel Academy of Art under the direction of Boris Schatz, contributing significantly to the development of Israeli art. Pann is best known for his emotionally powerful depictions of Jewish life, biblical themes, and the suffering of Jews during World War I.
