Lorraine O'Grady creates performances, photomontages, and conceptual works exploring race, diaspora, and representation in art history. Her performance "Art Is..." brought art to the streets of Harlem, while "Miscegenated Family Album" juxtaposes her family with ancient Egyptian artifacts. Her work is held by MoMA, the Whitney Museum, and the Tate.
