Forrest Bess was an American outsider artist known for his surrealist paintings featuring dreamlike landscapes and fantastical creatures. Working largely in isolation in Texas, he developed a highly personal visual language combining abstraction with figurative elements and often explored themes of transformation and the subconscious.
