Bas Jan Ader

Bas Jan Ader was a conceptual and performance artist based in Los Angeles whose photographic and film works explored gravity, falling, and romantic gestures. His minimalist documentation and performative works connected to Southern California's artistic milieu in the early 1970s. His work is held in major collections including MoMA, the Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles, and the Stedelijk Museum.
