Rubem Valentim

Valentim created geometric abstract paintings and reliefs incorporating Afro-Brazilian religious symbols and iconography. His works bridge Constructivism with African diasporic spirituality. He represented Brazil at the Venice Biennale and his work is held by Museu de Arte Moderna de São Paulo and Pinacoteca de São Paulo.
