Mukul Dey (1895, 1989) was a pioneering Indian artist and printmaker who studied under William Rothenstein in England and is considered one of the first modern Indian drypoint etchers. He was a close associate of Rabindranath Tagore and played a significant role in the Bengal Renaissance, documenting cultural figures through portraiture and graphic art. His works have appeared in auction houses including Sotheby's and Christie's, recognized for their historical and artistic significance.
