Wifredo Arcay (1912, 2002) was a Cuban-born artist and close associate of Victor Vasarely, playing a foundational role in the development of Op Art and kinetic abstraction in Paris during the mid-20th century. His work explored geometric abstraction, optical illusion, and the systematic use of color and form, often producing works of striking visual dynamism. Arcay contributed significantly to the Galerie Denise René circle, which championed constructivist and kinetic art movements in postwar Europe.
