Phase 2 (Lonny Wood) was a pioneering New York graffiti artist and writer widely credited as one of the originators of the 'bubble letter' style that became foundational to hip-hop visual culture. Active from the late 1960s through the 1970s subway graffiti era, he was among the first writers to develop sophisticated lettering styles and was a key figure in transitioning graffiti from tags to complex compositions. Beyond graffiti, he worked as a graphic designer, flyer artist, and cultural theorist deeply embedded in the early hip-hop movement.
