Richard Marquis

American(1945)

Marquis creates whimsical glass sculptures incorporating murrine, reticello, and Venetian techniques into Pop-influenced teapots and objects. As the first American to work in Murano factories, he bridged Italian traditions with American studio glass irreverence. His Marquiscarpas and zanfirico works are held in over 50 museums including the Smithsonian.
